Turn Over of Overwhelming Evidence

Dear Readers,

It was over a year and a half ago that we began OverwhelmingEvidence.com. It began as a website by students and for students. Our hope was to bring students together to discuss the matters of intelligent design and evolution. In the nearly two years that we have run this site, we have seen many good discussions on the issues. We have also, as expected, seen many who would rather disrupt the discussion for one reason or another. Nonetheless, we were able to bring many together to discuss these very important questions.

However, many students still have the fear of discussing these issues in public. For many of them, grades and degrees rely on their rejecting intelligent design in favor of evolution. For others, harassment and persecution is of the norm if they are even sympathetic towards ID or skeptical of Darwinism. Cases like these are widespread and, though we fight hard for open and honest discussions of the issue at schools, such isn't always so.

Just a few months ago, Drs. William Dembski and Jonathan Wells released their newest book The Design of Life. The Design of Life is a excellent book for students and instructors alike and, I hope, it will be key in furthering the discussion on evolution and intelligent design.

In the last few weeks, my associate here at OverwhelmingEvidence.com Patrick and I have been working closely in turning this site over to be the official blog site for The Design of Life and for continuing this discussion. As of today, I am officially resigning my position as the head of the site and the site is passing on to Denyse O'Leary.

You will see me occasionally make posts here from time to time as I look forward to staying involved in the great discussions here. I will also continue posting on my personal blog, Doubting Darwin.

Please lend your support and cooperation to Denyse as she takes on the job of running this site. Also, please stay active here, and on other sites, as we continue this important conversation.
