Richard Dawkins, the self-appointed cop of enlightenment rationality is at it again, his new show on BBC's Channel 4 is called "The Enemies of Reason" - no he's not finally come round to our common sense point of view, he's flailing his blunt atheistic hatchet in ever wider circles, and this time his target is spirituality.
Ask a materialist if an infinitely powerful entity is possible, and they will give you a "No!", without even bothering to consider the question for a moment. The materialist understanding of the laws of thermodynamics exclude any understanding of systems that have infinite energy. Unfortunately for materialists, their understanding of these basic scientific principles is about to receive a major challenge.
Supposing your baby had a brain tumor – what kind of surgeon would you choose to operate on your child? Would you select a simpering coward, a doctor who has no distinguishing feature other than a play-it-safe reputation of competent neurosurgery, and a willingness to follow the received opinion of the medical consensus without question...
First they ignore you...
Then they fight you...
Then they laugh at you...
And then you win...
(Mahatma Gandhi)
Ghandi knew a great deal about bringing about revolution, he fought against an oppressive regime that denied his people's rights and ruthlessly suppressed their traditions. I sometimes wonder if like Ghandi, we are still fighting the English or at least one Englishman, a certain Richard Dawkins who thinks he knows better than Americans how we should school our kids.
If you ever have the misfortune of debating the origins of life with a committed evolutionist the same topics that seem to always come up: Those fraudulent Embryo drawings and “Junk DNA” - when will the evolutionists learn that some of the strongest evidence for Evolution are actually the proofs for the case of ID. Most evolutionary science continues to abuse a very small quantity of incorrectly observed evidence and from this an entire science has been extrapolated from that: It's the very definition of a pseudo-science.
But evolutionists never rest: As their current position crumbles they have found a new argument in a very old book. It's by the arch-wingnut of neo-darwinism, Richard Dawkins. The selfish-gene is an invention, or rather a flight-of-fancy of the then young professor Richard Dawkins, a maverick lecturer at the university of Cambridge, England. His book, published in 1976, also titled “The Selfish Gene” was an instant flop. Most critics found his style of prose grandiose, arrogant and obscurest, furthermore his far-fetched ideas were instantly dismissed for lack of credibility and his amoral stance.
While I was reading to my daughter from Percival Davis' excellent “Of Pandas and People” I learnt something about the differences between the way Neo-Darwinists an proponents of ID think. I think the Darwinists are only interested in looking at disconnected details: They fail to see the big-picture and that is why they fail to spot the signature of the Intelligent Designer even though the evidence is staring them in the face.
Let me give you an example:
The Tasmanian Wolf looks remarkably like the regular wolf you and I know of. It’s about the same size, has a similar diet and even has the same kind of fur , jaw structure, teeth and behavior. Anybody can see that these two animals are examples of the same kind of creature. But if you ask an evolutionist where this creature might be placed on the “tree of life”, they would place these two very similar creatures about as far from each other as could be and yet still both be considered mammals. That’s sort of like somebody from Kentucky claiming that their next door neighbour lives in New Jersy!
